Players get treated unfairly from time to time and this is their way of getting payback (staying silent). @tennischick504 it’s not her fault that the calls were wrong. a victory over the williams brothers is a fantastic win for any player. and you have to remember something. umpires r just human, they make mistakes like everyone else
I hope we see less and less of this umpire, Ms. Alves. She is incompetent. She is the reason for instant replay in Tennis today and will go down in history for her incompetence. Jennifer was low class and tacky after the match was over. I actually was a fan of the serena v jennifer rivalry, but after that match, Im glad Jennifer is out of tennis and hope she doesnt return.
That Capriata could celebrate a so-called victory in such fashion is beyond me. She didn’t win this match. She saw the balls of Serena’s were in. I’ve seen her in the past screaming about someone else’s balls being out, but alls these balls were in. This was unbelievable and I’ve never been a Serena fan either.
@thetruthis9 Agreed. If it was Kim Clijsters, she would have seemed disappointed, and solemn, maybe even spoke out against a few of the calls (the obvious ones). Capriati seemed way too overjoyed.

I don’t like Serena but those calls were absolutely ridiculous. If that was Daniel Kollerer, he’d have butchered the line judges and the umpire along with the referee with his racket.
@phillie19 Decent (and even top) players know when they insult or break rackets, or misbehave on and off courts could be punished and fined for those rules infringements, so there´s no excuse for unsportsmanslike conduct, more over when they are professionals being watched by millions on TV. And I don´t think they would allow anyone to keep screwing them, as you put it.
